“You don't have to know programming to create solutions…”
At the same hackathon, first place went to Mike Brown, a personal injury lawyer, who said in Anthropic's winners write-up that he didn't write a single line of code. Nedoszytko is a different case: Anthropic describes him as a cardiologist who had spent 20 years building healthcare software alongside his practice, and he shipped PostVisit.ai in 7 days. He also qualifies his own line: what you build without programming is a solution, or at least a prototype you can use yourself.
Only 1 of that event's 5 winners was a professional developer, according to the Seoul Economic Daily. The Proof profiles two people from outside software: Nina Kolari, who built a speech practice app for stroke patients at a 3-hour Cursor hackathon, and Rene Turcios, a former Yu-Gi-Oh! pro.
